This year, one of the hopefuls in the United Kingdom’s X Factor was Ben Quinlan.

Ben Quinlan hails from Killarney in Ireland and entered the talent show this summer. He negotiated the first two rounds of the process, getting to the second element of Boot Camp.

His rendition of 9 to 5 was too much for Scary Spice, Mel B as she stopped him mid track saying I can’t take this. Stop that.

Well Ben is taking the opportunity of RTE, Ireland’s change of rules for submissions in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, and entering himself and a song into the national selection process.

Talking to thestar.ie, he said It’s very new, very fresh, it’s an Irish pop song with a funky twist.

It looks like we will have an ever-increasing list of X Factor entrants. Louis Walsh is actively suggesting that others join the queue to take part. Janet Grogan and Orla Keogh are also expected to be there. From previous years of the show, Jedward and Mary Byrne may also participate.
