Tonight, in downtown Oslo, Eurovision: Memory Lane will once again take place. As the artists arrive in Oslo in preparation for one of the biggest Eurovision Song Contest themed parties of the year, esctoday.com will be covering the event in full. Artists that have represented Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, United Kingdom, Romania and more will create a fantastic party.
Despite yesterday's announcement that the current Eurovision Song Contest winner, Marija Seriifovic has had to cancel her performance and remain in Serbia due to her vocal chords being strained, she has promised her fans in Norway that she will come this October. Gina G also withdrew from the event earlier after announcing that she was pregnant with her second child.
Guri Schanke, the 2007 Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest representative has confirmed that she will be performing at the show and we are promised three more surprises that will be introduced during the show.
Mihai Traistariu flew into Oslo yesterday and met up with the esctoday.com team to say hello. He will be performing his 2006 song (esctoday.com 2006 Song of the year) Tornero. He will not be performing any other songs at tonight's event – which is purely for songs from the Eurovision Song Contest or national finals.
5,000 are expected to fill the harbour-side venue in Oslo for a spectacular event today. Headline acts include Bobbysocks (Elisabeth Andreasen and Hanna Krogh, Guri Schanke, Norwegian born German icon, Wenche Myhre, Kirsten Siggard (Hot eyes) Mihai, Katrina, Kikki Danielsson , Jenny Jensen, Måns Zelmerløw, esctoday.com will be providing video interviews with the artists that are on stage tonight along with video footage of the event.
