Slovenia: RTVSLO opts for national selection for Eurovision 2015

RTVSLO, the Slovenian national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday.com that Slovenia will opt for a national selection in order to select its Eurovision act for the forthcoming 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

RTVSLO will once again opt for EMA- the Slovenian national selection to select its Eurovision act and entry for Vienna. The Slovenian broadcaster will release the rules and regulations for EMA 2015  in November. More details and information regarding the 2015 Slovenian Eurovision project will be released next month.

In 2014 Slovenia selected its Eurovision entry and act via a national final- EMA. Tinkara Kovac won the golden ticket to Copenhagen with her entry Round and round.  She placed 25th in the grand final in Copenhagen.

Slovenia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with IX Band and is yet to win the event. The country’s best its placing in the competition has been a 7th place achieved in 1995 with Darja Svajger and in 2001 with Nusa Derenda.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
