Moldova: TRM releases the rules for Eurovision 2015 national selection

TRM, the Moldovan national broadcaster has released information and details on the 2015 Moldovan Eurovision national selection.

The 2015 Moldovan Eurovision national selection will be held at the end of February in Chisinau. Esctoday.com has learned that the 2015 Moldovan national selection will consist of 3 shows (2 semi-finals and 1 final) which will be held on  on 24, 26 and 28 February .

The 2015 Moldovan entry and act will be selected via a 50/50 jury- televoting deliberation. For the very first time Moldova will be allowing international acts and artists to enter its Eurovision national selection and bid to represent the country at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

Artists wishing to submit entries for the 2015 Moldovan national selection can do so until 15 December. Hereafter a special jury will shortlist the number of entries from to 60 entries on 17 December, followed by a live audition on 19 December where a total of 24 acts will be selected.  12 acts will compete in each semifinal. Moldova debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and is yet to win the contest. The country’s best placing was a 6th place in 2005 when it debuted at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev with Zdob Si Zdub‘s Bunika Bate Toba!

Cristina Scarlat  represented Moldova at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Wild Soul, despite a powerful performance she failed to qualify to the grand final. Moldova has not missed a single contest since its debut in 2005, having competed a total of 10 times in the event.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
