Switzerland: Former Pussy Cat Doll in the running

Jessica Sutta, former member of the girl band the Pussy Cat Dolls, has entered a song into the online Swiss platform.

The song, Candy, is the first song from her upcoming album Feline resurrection, which is due to be released at some point next year.

Jessica Sutta left Pussy Cat Dolls at the beginning of 2010 after a seven-year run in the group. During her time in the group they sold over 15 million albums and multiple number ones across the globe.

Jessica joins former X Factor UK contestant Kitty Brucknell, who has entered the selection with her song Yearning.

The online portal closes for submissions on October 27. Voting will then commence on November 3, lasting two weeks.

The internet vote will be combined with a jury vote, where the top nine songs progressing to the expert check.

In the expert check stage the nine songs from SRF’s selection will join six from the Swiss-French language broadcaster, RTS, and three from RSI, the Swiss-Italian broadcaster.

The expert jury will then pick three songs from SRF’s contenders, two from RTS’ selection and one from RSI to progress to the national final.

The national final will take place on January 31 where the six finalists will perform their entries as well as a cover version of another song. The winner will be decided between a split public and jury vote.
