The Portuguese artist was cast as a participant of the popular talent show. He took his first audition before the jury just a few days ago. Wanna see the result?

Rui Andrade seems to ignore the meaning of the term weariness. He attempted an entry for Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest this year. Despite not being selected for his country, he still was in Copenhagen as the backing vocalist for the Tolmachevy Sisters.

Later on, he released a video clip. He was on tour this summer (are you tired yet? Rui is not…) and now he is on television. Andrade took the try-outs for the Portuguese version of the talent show X-Factor, making it to the televised auditions that are being broadcast on SIC.

For his first appearance on screen Rui sang Snow Patrol’s hit Chasing cars. His performance was met with different opinions issued by the members of the jury. All of them praised the singer’s powerful voice, though some criticized the performer alleging that he lacked forbearance and that he had not given heart to the number.

Despite the critics, you can tell that he made an impression and that the jury members see the potential that Rui Andrade has as a singer. Three Yes against one No granted the man a ticket to the next phase of the show.

We will keep on following Andrade’s accomplishments in Factor X.

Rui Andrade was on stage in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest as the backing vocalist for the Russian entry Shine by the Tolmachevy Sisters.
