TVE released some details concerning the second edition of Operación Triunfo. The biggest surprise is that not sixteen, but seventeen wannabe-stars will get chance to enter the academy.

In the first programme, a jury will select sixteen of the twenty candidates. After that, the television public will save one of them. The final number of participants will come out at seventeen with this system.

Operación Triunfo will start at October 7. The winner of the show will represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga.
