Eurovision 2015: Conchita congratulates Vienna!

The 2014 Austrian Eurovision winner has congratulated Vienna for hosting the forthcoming 2015 Eurovision Song Contest via a special video message.

Conchita Wurst won the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest last May with her entry Rise like a Phoenix, thus bringing the Eurovision bandwagon to Austrian soil for the 2nd time in Eurovision history. Vienna has been granted the honour of hosting the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest next May. ORF the Austrian national broadcaster announced the name of the 2015 Eurovision host city last week. A total of 3 cities were shortlisted in the final phase of the host city selection: Innsbruck, Vienna and Graz. Vienna will be hosting the event for the second time, as it hosted the contest for the very first time back in 1967 when the UK gained its very first Eurovision victory with Sandie Shaw.

Conchita Wurst is very happy and pleased that Vienna will host the Eurovision Song Contest, she has recorded a special message congratulating the host city. The Queen of Austria is very excited about Vienna hosting the event next year and shares her excitement and happiness with us. She goes on to say that Eurovision in Vienna will  be fabulous, glamourous, extraordinary and beyond! The 2014 Eurovision winner can’t wait for May to come and hopes to see you all in Vienna in May!

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21, 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna.
