Greek artist Nana Mouskouri represented Luxemburg at the Eurovision Song Contest of 1963 in London, United Kingdom, with the song A Force De Prier.

Nana achieved an 8th place with thirteen points. In September 2014, in honour of her 80th birthday and 51 years since her Eurovision entry, Nana Mouskouri will return to the United Kingdom for several performances.

Nana Mouskouri will turn 80 on the 13th of October 2014 and will celebrate this happy event in the United Kingdom. On the 25th of September the Greek singer will perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Following this concert, she will perform at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on the 29th of September, and finally she will perform at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on the 30th of September. During this tour, Nana Mouskouri will not only be accompanied by four French musicians, but also by her daughter Lénou, who followed in her mother’s footsteppes and has her own singing career in France since 2001. Nana is very happy and proud to perform in the United Kingdom:

Singing was my first love and always helped me to breathe. After celebrating 50 years of my ‘White Rose of Athens’ three years ago, I realised 2012 was 50 years since I worked with Quincy Jones and recorded my first album in New York. In 2013 it was 50 years since ‘The Umbrellas of Cherbourg’ with Michel Legrand and 50 years since the Eurovision Song Contest in London with the BBC.

This year, 2014, it will be 50 years since I worked with Harry Belafonte and had my first stage experience in the USA and Canada. So I thought the journey would be worth celebrating, singing songs from my favorite composers and writers, for all my dear friends, the audience. And I am so proud and happy to share the stage now with my daughter Lénou. It is like a dream come true. Happy Birthday to all who have given me the answer that love still exists.

The dates for Nana Mouskouri’s United Kingdom-Tour are:

Thu September 25 2014 – LONDON Royal Albert Hall
Mon September 29 2014 – GLASGOW Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
Tue September 30 2014 – MANCHESTER Bridgewater Hall
