Preparation for the Austrian entry

After two years of failing to qualify to the final, the Austrian broadcaster ORF had decided that they would internally selected the artist and song for Copenhagen. On September 10th the news about Conchita singing for Austria was leaked and ORF informed esctoday.com that Wurst would be singing for Austria in Denmark.

Between the final months of 2013, Conchita’s Eurovision preparations were in full swing, but as always everything was kept a secret. To stay connected with her fans, Conchita made an appearance at an event hosted by OGAE Austria and even gave the esctoday.com readers a lovely Christmas message.

When 2014 began, Wurst was still working on the entry which at that time had not been revealed. In February the singer was given the honour of being the first artist to film their postcard for Eurovision. This video can be found early on in this special article.

Hello my name is Daniel Doyle. I am 19 years old and I live in Rushden, United Kingdom. My first Eurovision was in 2004 where I was given permission by my parents to stay up late to watch the contest. Since then I have been a hardcore fan. The first Eurovision I went to was in 2010 and I hope to go to more in the near future.
