Exclusive: 22,000 crystals for Kenan show

Swarovski may not be an official sponsor of the Eurovision Song Contest, but the famous jewelery brand is fast associating itself with the competition. First the company announced that they would provide crystals for Austrian participant, Eric Papilaya's stage costumes by leading British designer, Vivien Westwood. Now esctoday.com can reveal that the company will be providing a staggering 22,000 crystals imported from Australia for Kenan Dogulu's costumes.

esctoday.com has received news from Turkey about Kenan Dogulu stage show. The outfit that Kenan and his backing singers and dancers will wear are being designed and produced by top Turkish fashion designer, Ceyda Balaban. The outfits will carry a theme from Turkish and Ottoman influences mixed with a futuristic vibe.

Kenan will appear on stage in a red and gold jacket, complete with 1,450 Swarovski crystals sewn into the inside of the jacket. When he moves on stage and the jacket flies open, the inside lining will dazzle the audience and television viewers. The backing support will be wearing gold coated armour with special needlework and 20,500 crystals will be enbedded in the outfits.

Kenan Dogulu will sing 26th in the semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 10th May.
