Danish broadcaster DR has released a behind-the-scenes documentary of the Eurovision Song Contest that took place earlier this month in Copenhagen.
After hosting an amazing event this May in Copenhagen, DR has now released a documentary, Det store show (The Big Show), showcasing the work involved in bringing the contest to life for fans around Europe and the world. The show presents the tears, happiness, heartache, and nerves experienced before, during, and after the shows on behalf of the technical staff, production team, the hosts, and the artists themselves.
You can watch the full documentary on the DR website. The broadcast was presented largely in Danish, although parts of the program feature spoken English.
Denmark played host to the 59th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest this year after Emmelie de Forest’s win last year in Malmo, Sweden with her entry Only teardrops. This year, Austria’s Conchita Wurst took the crown with the power ballad Rise like a pheonix, giving Austria their second win since the contest began, and the right to host the 60th diamond jubilee of the Eurovision Song Contest.
