Georgia and Ukraine have made strong friendships following a romantic boat trip in the Danish capital.

Yesterday, 30 April the Ukrainian 2014 Eurovision representative Mariya Yaremchuk invited the 2014 Georgian representatives Mariko and The Shin to a special romantic style boat trip down the canals of Copenhagen.

The artists got to know each by discussing their first rehearsals as well as their Eurovision journey so far. Mariya has always wanted to meet the Georgian representative who compete on Thursday 8 May in the second semi final with the song Three minutes to earth.

The trip lasted for a couple hours and involved a pleasant cruise down the famous Nyhavn district in Copenhagen. They spent their time by performing famous Ukrainian and Georgian folk songs. By the time the trip was over the artists were inseparable. They both wished each other the best of luck for the semi-finals.

For Mariya, relaxing on a boat has always been a favourite hobby.

I adore boats. It’s amazing to be on the water… to feel free and happy. It’s the best rest for me!
-Mariya Yaremchuk

At one stage Mariya was in charge of the ship. Whilst sailing down the Nyhavn the captain allowed Maryia the chance to take hold of the wheel for five minutes. Mariya will compete for Ukraine with the song Tick tock in the first semi final on May 6th.
