Sarit Hadad, the Israeli entrant to the recent Eurovision Song Contest, won tonight the award of 'leading figure in music' of the year in Israel. The ceremony was held in Jerusalem and broadcasted live on Israel's Channel 2.

It is the end of the jewish year, and Israel's Channel 2 presented tonight the annual ceremony of 'Figures of year'. The winners were selected by the viewers of Cahnnel 2.

There were several topics and one of them was the leading musician or vocalist of the year. Among the candidates in this topic was Shlomo Artzi, Israeli entrant to the 1975 Eurovision Song Contest, who has been since then THE most popular male singer in Israel. But the winner of the award was Sarit Hadad, who has won it previously.
“I am more excited receiving this award than I was during the Eurovision contest. I am so happy to receive so much love because it is mutual- I love everyone else. Maybe the reason for all this is simplicity. After all, we are all humans, and I stayed the same Sarit as I was before” said the singer. Later on she sang one of her current hits 'Ata Totach' (You're great).

The award was presented to Hadad by another past entrant to Eurovision, Sarah'le Sharon. Sharon was the pianist of the Shiru group who represnted Israel in 1993. Sarah'le Sharon has now gained popularity again with her sing-along events, which she has been so familiar with in Israel, throughout the years, and that was the theme of the Eurovision song 'Shiru' (Sing!).
