Today SVT presented the figures for this years Melodifestivalen tour and it was a very happy Martin Österdahl that presented the amazing figures for this years contest.

The final of Melodifestivalen 2007 was seen by 3 975 000 people which is 83% of allpeople thatwatched television on saturday night. This is actually a slight dip from last year when over 4 million watched the show. The second chance contest almost doubled it's viewing figures and over 1 million votes were registred.

Melodifestivalen viewing figures: (The Final)

• 2007: 3 975 000
• 2006: 4 240 000
• 2005: 4 055 000
• 2004: 4 140 000
• 2003: 3 815 000
• 2002: 3 720 000

During the final there were a total of 2 072 918 votes registred even this is an amazing figure for a tv-show like this. During the whole tour there has been 5.3 million televotes registred. These figures shows that Melodifestivalen still is the most popular tv-programme in Sweden and taking new shares every year.

Martin Österdahl tells that SVT now will evaluate the 2007 edition and after that SVT will start working on Melodifestivalen 2008. We will keep all that has been good and keep changing Melodifestivalen in order to make it an up to date tv-show that everyone can enjoy and keep it the No 1 tv-show where we can present new Swedish music to the public.
