Austria: Conchita performs her Eurovision entry live

Conchita Wurst, the 2014 Austrian Eurovision representative has performed her Eurovision entry Rise like a Phoenix live for the very first time last night on ORF’s Dancing with Stars Show.

The 2014 Austrian Eurovision entry Rise like a Phoenix has been written by  Charly Mason, Joey Patulka, Ali Zuckowski and Julian Maas.

The Austrian broadcaster invited many well acclaimed and internationally recognised composers and producers to submit an entry for Conchita. ORF received more than 100 entries. After studying and evaluating all the submitted entries the broadcaster  along with Conchita  opted for the glamorous and powerful ballad  Rise like a Phoenix.

Conchita will be heading to Europe in the coming weeks, in order to promote her song, she will be travelling to Madrid for OGAE Spain’s Euroschlager Party on 28 March and then to Riga (Latvia) for a special Eurovision concert on 29 March. In April the Austrian representative will be attending special events in London and Amsterdam.

The Austrian delegation and Conchita will be flying to Copenhagen on 28 April.

Conchita Wurst was selected via an internal selection by ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster to represent Austria at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. The 2014 Austrian entry has also been selected via an internal selection and is set to be released in due course.

Austria will compete in the 2nd Eurovision Song Contest semi-final when Conchita will take the stage on 8 May at the B&W Hallerne in Copenhagen.
