Following the news that Morrissey will take no part in the United Kingdom's entry for the Eurovision Song contest, bookmakers William Hill have pushed the price of UK winning from 14/1 to 20/1 and shortened the price of the UK entrant getting nil point from 40/1 to 33/1. The bookmakers have also provided a bespoke list of odds on potential United Kingdom finalists for 2007. Leading the race are Liz McClarnon and Brian Harvey.
Amongst the names in the frame, William Hill rates former Atomic Kitten Liz McClaron is their current 6/4 favourite to represent the UK in Helsinki on the 12th of May and offer 10/1 that Jordan & Peter Andre get the gig. 16/1 odds are offered on Dannii Minogue and 25/1 forTake That who recently performed the interval act at Denmark’s national final last week. Odds are likely to change as and when the BBC release the full list of finalists. It is also almost certain to include names that are not on the list below.
“It looks like Liz McClarnon and Brian Harvey are all but certain to be in the short-list of six but Eurovison fans will be desperate for Take That to represent the UK and if they did we would make the UK our favourites for the first time in ten years”, said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
Two more names that appeared on various forums today are Michelle Bass and Lee Otway. esctoday.com understands that neither name is in the frame for the 2007 Making Your Mind Up.
esctoday.com believes that Brian Harvey, formerly of the internationally successful band East 17, and Liz McClarnon will be in the final list of participants for the United Kingdom's final, but despite Take That's appearance in the Danish national final, they will not be competing for the nation's Eurovision Song Contest ticket.
Dannii Minogue was a strong candidate this year, but is on the same record label as Liz McClarnon and is therefore now considered as very unlikely to participate. Robbie Williams, whilst a hugely popular choice amongst fans is currently dealing with personal issues and is unlikely to be available in March.

6/4 Liz McClarnon

10/1 Journey South
10/1 Jordan & Peter Andre
12/1 Charlotte Church
16/1 Dannii Minogue
