After her recent appearance on the Mision Eurovision show in Spain, Olivia Lewis' preparations for Helsinking have begun in earnest. With a team of Maltese and Swedish professionals behind her, Vertigo is being reworked both musically and with respect to the performance.
After a "heavenly experience" singing on Mision Eurovision last weekend, Olivia Lewis and her team are now wholly focussed on preparations to maximize Vertigo's chances of bringing Malta its first win at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Currently footage is being shot for her promotional video, even as the storyboard is being developed. The Swedish music production company G Songs has suggested that Olivia have three female backup singers to produce the desired harmonies. While it's not final yet, it's likely that G Songs will pick the singers from their own stable.
With the background singers and Olivia, that leaves only 2 spots onstage in Helsinki. Violinist Joseph Chetcuti and Olivia's choregrapher Jes will round out the performers. However, the performance is being reworked to create a maximum impact. Rumours of "a key Eurovision choreographer" coming on board are not confirmable at this time. Finally, Olivia will perform Vertigo at the Cypriot "song reveal" on 24 February.
Fabrizio Faniello received a single point in last year's final in Athens. As a result, Malta will try to earn a spot in this year's final via the semi-final on 10 May.
