Mihai Traistariu, Romania's 2006 representative at the Eurovision Song Contest saw his entry Tornero, voted 'Song of the year' by almost 18,000 readers on Christmas eve. He has become a man in demand, with appearances at several national finals around Europe this year.Two weeks ago esctoday.com dropped in on Mihai during a television appearance in Malta on Lejn il-Eurovision to present him with his award. This weekend in Iceland, we caught up with him again and sat down to discuss the last year and what the future has in store.
Mihai has already appeared at the national finals in Malta, Iceland and will be in Greece on February 28th. esctoday.com by happy coincidence have been present at the first two and will of course be bringing you full coverage from the Greek final too.
In Iceland, we sat down with Mihai and spoke about the Eurovision Song Contest, and his performance. We talked abot the award, and asked Mihai if he voted for his song. We discussed his plans for an international career, we get to the bottom of what really happened with his songs that were entered for Melodifestivalen in Sweden and of course, Mihai tells us which website he checks for his daily dose of Eurovision news!
