SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest, have revealed the guests who will attend the final of the Swedish national selection Melodifestivalen.

It’s been announced that 4 former Swedish Eurovision participants, Charlotte Perrelli (1999, 2008), Malena Ernman (2009), Robin Stjernberg (2013) and Marie Bergman (Family Four; 1971, 1972), will attend and perform at the show. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of ABBA’s Eurovision win, the 4 former participants will perform an ABBA medley which will include the band’s winning song Waterloo.

The Melodifestivalen 2014 hosts, Nour El Refai and Anders Jansson, will also perform an interpretation of the previous Melodifestivalen winning song You by Robin Stjernberg.

Last Saturday, the running order of Melodifestivalen final was announced via SVT. Read more about the running order here. On Saturday 8 March, the final show will take place where the 10 finalists will battle for the right to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen.

Sweden debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 with the song Lilla stjärna performed by the late Alice Babs. Alice ended in 4th place with a total of 10 points. Sweden have won the contest a total of 5 times; in 1974, 1984, 1991, 1999 and more recently 2012. Sweden hosted the contest last year at the Malmö Arena where a total of 39 countries took part in the competition.

Last year, Robin Stjernberg won the Swedish selection with his song You, earning the right to represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest in his home country of Sweden. Automatically qualifying to the grand final, Robin ended in 14th place with a total of 62 points.
