Ruth Lorenzo, the 2014 Spanish Eurovision representative performed  her Eurovision entry Dancing in the rain at a special charity gala Telemaraton last Sunday on TVE.

Telemaraton was a special charity television show organized in order to funds for rare diseases. The show was hosted by Isabel Gemio and was aired live from Madrid on Spanish broadcaster TVE 1 and TVE Internacional on March 2. Former Spanish Eurovision representatives were invited to perform during the show: Sergio Dalma ( Spain 1991) and Pastora Soler ( Spain 2012). Many celebrated Spanish artists also attended the show: Malu, Luz Casal, Carlos Baute, Miguel Rios and Fangoria.

Ruth Lorenzo, the 2014 Spanish representative graced the occasion and treated the audience with her Eurovision entry Dancing in the rain. Ruth won the Spanish Eurovision national final last month and will represent Spain at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. The former X factor participant enjoys great fame in the United Kingdom and Ireland and has now won the hearts of her nation, Spain.

Ruth has received great exposure and mediatic attention ever since her victory at the 2014 Spanish Eurovision national final last month, featuring on magazines, newspapers, websites, television channels and radio stations.

Spain as one of the BIG 5 countries is automatically qualifed to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest grand final.  Therefore Spain will compete at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest grand final on 10 May in Copenhagen.

Spain debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has won the even on 2 occasions in 1968 with Massiel and in 1969 on home soil with Salome.
