Since the age of four Dima so much desired to become a doctor that he graduated from the medical class of the Minsk High School in the course of time, and he was not a second-rate student at all as he managed to graduate with a silver medal.

In 2002 Koldun entered the faculty of chemistry of the Belarusian State University. Dima refused to become a doctor and prepared to become a professional chemist. And being the bearer of the “magic” surname (Koldun means “magician”) “conjured” such unreal substances that he himself was astonished.

In 2006, Koldun became the winner of the “Star Factory,” where he perfomed “Still loving you” with the legendary group 'Scorpions'.

In the interview to esctoday.com Dima Koldun tells more about himself and the importance of music in his life.

Dmitry Koldun, “Eurovision representive for Belarus,” how does it feel?

“Good, happy, absolutely delighted that Belarus voted for me. It's great that they gave me
a chance!”

When did you start your musical career?

“I've been singing for four years now and enjoy every moment. I was with the State
Orchestra for a while, entered 'Star Academy' and won it.”

You participated in 'Star Academy' What will it mean to you if you win the Eurovision
Song Contest?

“I'll have to think about that one but I believe I will cry from happiness and joy.”

Have you made any changes in your performance since winning 'Eurofest'?

“Yes! I will be preparing my performance in Greece and will hope to include some 'Magic' on the Eurovision Song Contest stage.”

What are your ambitions and dreams?

“I would like to buy a cosmic station or if not maybe a star ship!”

What style of music do you identify yourself with most? ie. Rock, RnB, Pop, Ethnic, Soul, Latino, Salsa, Trad etc…

“Eh, I think Pop/Rock like 'Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi…' Also the 'Scorpions'”

What would you have done in your career if not music?

“I would become a Professional Chemist graduating from Belrussian State University.”

Philip Kirkov is on your management team, and has experience of the Eurovision Song
Contest, how will you use this to your advantage?

“First, he wrote me this fantastic song for me! Also he will help me to avoid mistakes throughout the competition.”

Are you a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest?

“I always watched it, but never thought to take part in it.

Whats your favourite song of all time?

“Johnny Logan “Hold me now” for Ireland in 1987 and of course Wig-wam “In my dreams” for Norway in 2005.”
