Spanish national broadcaster, TVE, revealed last week the full results of the 2014 Spanish Eurovision national final televoting where Ruth Lorenzo was elected as the Spanish representative for Copenhagen.

Ruth Lorenzo defeated the other contestants after receiving 30,97% of the public vote. The first runner up, South African Brequette, finished only 3% behind with 27,40% proving that the two singers were the public favourites from the beginning.

Jorge González finished third with 25,34% with Aunque se acabe el mundo, while Raúl received 9,36% of the votes and Dama finished last with 6,93%.

Last Saturday the former X Factor alumni won the right to represent Spain in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest after defeating Brequette on a two horse race. Both singers finished on a tie after the jury and public casted their votes, but as the Murcian was the televote favourite she was declared the winner according to the rules.

Ruth Lorenzo will represent Spain with Dancing in the rain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 on 10 May in Copenhagen.
