BBC has confirmed to esctoday.com that the UK will have the 4th edition of Making your mind up to select this year's representative to the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki.

Last December it was announced by the BBC that "This is Eurovision's 52nd year and it's growing bigger all the time as rumours abound about who'll be representing the UK, with everyone from Morrissey to the Scissor Sisters apparently in the frame. The UK entry will be chosen in mid-March, in a primetime special". It can now be confirmed that the primetime special will be indeed the 4th edition of Making your mind up! Furthermore, in a communication with esctoday.com the rumors that have been spread concerning Billie Piper's participation have been denied as false.

No information on the participants or the exact date is available yet. Stay tuned for the latest and most reliable information on the British selection process.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
