This year, the Czech Republic will make its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest. Broadcaster ČT announced the names of the 10 artists that will compete in the Czech national final on March 10th.

The artists that will participate in Národní finále Česka are:

1. L.B.P.– So real
2. Petr Bende – Zaklínám své moře
3. Vlasta Horváth – Adios
4. Lili Marlene – �ena ze stínadel
5. Sámer Issa – When I am with her
6. Helena Vondráčková – Samba
7. Helena Zeťová – Love me again
8. Kabát – Burlaci
9. Gipsy.cz – Muloland
10. Petr Kolář – Přísahám právě

The Czech national final will take place in Prague on the March 10th 2007, hosted by Jiří Korn. As a new entrant, the Czech Republic has to qualify from the semi final in Helsinki.

Although the Czech Republic willparticipate for the first time in the Eurovision Song Contest, it won't be the first time that a Czech performer will enter the Eurovision stage. Karel Gott, who represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1968, was born and raised in Pilsen, which makes him the first ever Czech performer on the Eurovision stage.
