The Swedish band Lustans Lakejer is getting ready for Melodifestivalen. The band was formed in the 1980's and has had many hits in Sweden. Leadsinger Johan Kinde has also hade hits as a solosinger in the 90's, the band is now back for the biggest music contest of them all. We did meet them after one of their rehersals to have a word about their participation.

Hi there! We are just fine and feeling ready to take the stage and give you old fans an 80's revival.
That sounds fantastic. But why Melodifestivalen, is this the right thing for you as a band?
Well I would say yes to that question since the contest has developed so much over the past years here in Sweden that nowdays anyone can take part and not just the regular “Schlagersongs” and we find that thrilling.
You talked about old fans earlier, can I as an old Lustans Lakejer fan recognize the sound from the 80's in the song?
Yes you will definetly do that. You will feel the sound in your stomach and the you will turn 20 again and start singing and dancing.
How about everyone else, will they also like the song?
Ooooh I would think so, it's a song that everyone can like and we are so good on stage that no one can resist us hahaha.
If you win Melodifesti valen, will you be singing in english at the Eurovision Song Contest?
Yes I will start writing an english lyrics for the song straight away and then we will come to Helsinki like vikings and conquerer Europe.
Do you have any thoughts on last years winner Lordi?
Only that it was not the best song, Beligum with J'te adore should have won. Then I must say that the Lordi song is a copy of Alice Coopers “Poision” and I don't like when you steal to much from an old song and put it in a new one.
Anything else we can expect from you regarding the performance?
