Christine Guldbrandsen, the twenty one year old singer that represented Norway in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, releases today her third CD Christine. It is her first work with eight out of ten tracks in her native language, Norwegian, as her previous two CD's were mostly in English.

Apart from one traditional Norwegian song, all the rest have been tailor made to suit Christine's unique voice. The style of the songs varies from soft ballads to "richly coloured soundscapes painted with broad strokes".
Christine has been involved in every phase of the production of the CD. She has co-written many of the songs together with her creative team: "It´s unthinkable for me not to be an integral part of the recording process. The album becomes a very important part of me, and by playing an active role in the whole creative process, the end product is very much my own." she says.

Together with the new songs, the album includes a new and improved version of Alvedansen, Norway's entry in the 2006 the Eurovision Song Contest. Alvendansen became a huge hit in Norway, staying on the Norsktoppen (a weekly radioshow where listerens vote for their favourite norwegian song) for 17 weeks and was also voted the fifth most popular song of year.

Success requires talent as well as a whole lot of hard work and Christine certainly knows that : "I try to participate actively in every aspect of my singing career, including the office work, both because it teaches me a lot about my business, and because I feel it is the right way for me to do things", says Christine.

When asked about her private life and whether it suffers from all the hard work she puts into her career, Christine says: "It is a sacrifice I make willingly. Music is an immensely important part of who I am; I can´t imagine a life without the possibility to express myself in music and song – it would be empty and colourless. I always feel deeply grateful for the privilege of being able to share music with others through song".

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
