Sinada, Well-o-wee and Dracula, my love have all been disqualified from the Romania final after it became clear to TVR that they had all been performed publicly prior to 1 October 2006. The national final next week will now take place with only nine songs, but there is no question of cancelling the final or replacing the disqualified entries at this stage. Sinada by New Effect featuring Moni-K, Well-o-wee by the Rednex and Dracula, my love by Andra & Simplu were all seen as potential winners in Romania but have clearly violated the rules. It has not yet been announced how TVR will fill the additional broadcasting time, or whether there will be a reduction in the length of the national final broadcast.
Locomondo's Liubi, Liubi, I love you and Nu pot să by Tibi Scobiola have been unanimously cleared of plagarism by a special commission and remain in the competition.
Romania has automatically qualified for the 2007Eurovision Song Contestfinal thanks to Mihai Trăistariu's 4th place finish in Athens with Tornero.
