Malta: MESC rehearsals kick off

Esctoday is at MFCC in Ta’ Qali to witness Day 1 of rehearsals of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

This year, the stage is made up of 150 moving lights, more than 100 square meters of LED walls and steps all round the stage that light up. For the first time, just under the stage, a camera on tracks has been placed producing shots that at the moment look very good on screen. Also for the first time, PBS will be transmitting both shows live in High Definition.

The rehearsals started at 9:00 in the morning and lasted until after 8:00 in the evening. Rehearsals yesterday went very smoothly with each artist having a chance to perform at least three times to perfect his/her performance. The lighting and background was adapted during each rehearsal to determine the best staging for each song.

Join us throughout the whole week, as we bring you rehearsals coverage and interviews with the competing artists and guests.

The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 will take place on 7 and 8 February with the semi final on Friday and the Final on Saturday both being broadcasted live on TVM at 20:45 CET.
