Hungary will return to the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki after a one year absence. It will be Hungary's 6th participation in the Contest. They will send the Fonogram Hngarian Music Awards winner, and it will be one of six artists nominated for the award. The awards ceremony takes place on February 24th live on MTV from the Jövő Háza thetre. The award is decided on televote and SMS votes.

Hungary havedecidedto send the Best New Artist award winner from theFonogram Hungarian Music Awards of MAHASZ (Union of Hungarian Record Companies) to Helsinki. The winner will be announcedat aspecial gala on February 24th. The nominees are:

• Angéla Póka
• Magdi Rúzsa
• Eszter Szabó
• Wendigo
• Wisdom

This is the same process which selected Hungary's song for the 2005 contest from Kyiv. Nox finished 14th in the Final, after successfully qualifying from the semi-final.
