The Malta Song for Europe semi final is about to start. 16 songs are going to compete in the selection and the top 6 will move forward to the final which is going to take place this Saturday. While we are waiting, holding our breath for the televoting to end, it is worth mentioning that temperature has dropped and everyone is freezing. Even in the Green room EVERYONE is grabbing for their coats as most of the ladies are not dressed for the occasion.

Shortly before the semi final started, Barry Viniker of esctoday.com presented Mihai of Romania with the esctoday.com 2006 Song of the Year award. The event was filmed by Net TV and will be shown on Lejn il-Eurovision, Malta's best Eurovision Song Contest news and report show.
