Viewing figures have been released for the most popular programmes on RTÉ in 2013.

At the top of the list is a Christmas edition of the ‘Late Late Show’ which annually looks at children’s toys. Out of a population of just over 4.5 million it was watched by 1.1 million people.

This Friday evening chat and entertainment show is also the vehicle which selects the Irish Eurovision entry.

Further down the list The Eurovision Song Contest placed a notable seventh. Their entry was Ryan Dolan singing Only love survives, which finished in last place but such was the interest that an average of just under 800,000 tuned in throughout the show. This is up 13,000 from 2012.

Here’s the video of Ryan performing on the big night.
