Lithuania: 9 finalists qualify for Eurovizijos 2014 show # 5

Eurovizijos 2014 show # 4 was held last night in Vilnius, Lithuania where 10 acts performed a song and were shortlisted to 9, after a jury/public deliberation. 
The 9 hopefuls will now compete next week at Eurovizijos 2014 show #5. After a jury/deliberation 8 acts will then qualify for round 3 of the Lithuanian Eurovision national selection.  You can read more about the mechanism here.

The 2014 Lithuanian national selection will consist of 4 rounds with a total of 10 shows.  20 candidates will battle for the golden ticket to Copenhangen. The 2014 Lithuanian entry will be selected on 8 February whilst the representative will be selected on 15 February.

A total of 20 acts will compete in Round 2 and the top 8 acts will then proceed to Round 3 of the competition. The 4 best acts from Round 3 will compete in the grand final on 15 February.

Andrius Pojavis represented Lithuania at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo with Something, achieving a 22nd place in the final.

Lithuania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 and is yet to win the event. The country’s best placing at Europe’s favourite television show was in 2006 when LT United achieved a 6th placing in the Eurovision Song Contest final in Athens.
