Viisu Kuppila have reported that the announcement of the hosts for 2007 Eurovision Song Contest will now be made on 6th February. YLE were expected to make the announcement this month, but the new date was announced recently. There will be a press conference this Wednesday 24th January at Vanha, (The Old Student House) which will also function as the official Euroclub in May. More information about plans for the Eurovision Song Contest are expected to be made public.
Details are still expected on which agency has been selected to produce the post cards, that are shown between the songs in the live shows, who will perform the interval acts during the voting and who will be responsible for the overall TV direction of the shows, although no visuals or detailed plans about the stage are expected until March, and will most likely be presented to the Heads of Delegation at their meeting in Helsinki on 12th-13th March before being made public.
The Eurovision Song Contest running orderdraw will be taking place during the Heads of Delegation meeting on 12th-13th March and will be televised live on YLE TV2 from the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki on Monday 12th March. YLE will also be producing twotelevision shows charting the preparation of the event. The show has beencommissioned by the European Broadcasting Union and will be offered to other countries’ broadcasters for broadcasting. It is hoped that the shows will become a part of the annual Eurovision programming across the continent.
YLE has also announced that the accreditation of press and media for the 2007 contest will commence in January at www.accreditation.eurovision.tv, more information is expected soon.
