DR, the Danish television and host broadcaster of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, has put out a call for dancers to participate in the live shows in Copenhagen.

On their Melodi Grand Prix website the chief stage director for the Eurovision Song Contest, Kenneth Kreutzmann, asks for some dancers who are insanely talented performers and all techniques. They must be able to engage in choreography that is technically demanding and could change styles reasonable smoothly. It will be great to see the talents unfold.

In particular he is looking for the 20 most talented male and female dancers to writhe on stage in B&W Halls on Refshaleøen.

The applicants do not need to reside in Denmark. They must be professionals, but can apply from anywhere.

Vicky Leander, stage director and Kenneth Kreutzmann‘s assistant, also says We have also sent word to Sweden, Norway and England. It is clear that we need to find the best, who can lift the show up in the scale that is needed.

The aspiring Eurovision performers have to present their skills Copenhagen’s Opera House, where auditions will take place on 11 January 2014. On 12 January the DR team will also be looking for those with special skills in addition to being able to dance. I attended my first Eurovision Song Contest in 1995, and from 1996 presented daily live reports for radio stations from the event. Since then I have been providing material from everywhere the contest has been held. I also enjoy compiling most of the video materials for three UK ESC events each year. In 2010 I first provided material for esctoday.com.
