14th February is the deadline for Flemish children between 10 and 15 years of age to submit their entries for Eurosong for kids 2007, the Belgian (Flemish) national final for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. With one month left, 50 songs have already been received by the broadcaster as Ineke Van Velzen told our partner website belgovision.com.
"We have received about 50 songs so far. But we expect the majority of the entries to arrive right before the deadline," says Eurosong for Kids producer Ineke Van Velzen. "We are used to that, so we don't panic." After the deadline, the most talented children singers and the best songs will be selected. Regional auditions and a big audition will once again be organised which means that last year's new selection method will be used.
The 5th annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the Netherlands. In 2006, Belgium finished 7th with Thor! and Een tocht door het donker, a song that became a hit in Belgium.
