Romania: Elena’s single a holiday gift for fans

Elena Gheorghe surprised her fans with a new single for the holidays. The singer who represented Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2009, premiered a new video for the song O simpla melodie. With the song, the 28-years-old singer closes a very successful year.

Elena Gheorghe returned to the Romanian music scene earlier this year with the release of her song Ecou. Throughout 2013, it was one of the most played songs on Romanian radio and the video for the single got over 7,5 million hits on YouTube. The second single, Până dimineață, nearly scored 7 million hits on the music video website. The singer also enjoyed some chart success in both The Netherlands and Slovakia in recent years, with singles like Disco Romancing and Midnight Sun.

Now, at the end of the year, Gheorghe released O simpla melodie, which means a simple song. The singer stated she wanted to give something back to her fans during the holidays. “Nobody should be alone around holidays. I am here for you and I bring you my simple song”, says Gheorghe.

Elena Gheorghe represented Romania In Eurovision in 2009. The singer performed her song The balkan girls and made it to the final, where she finished in the 19th position.
