Unofficial Bulgarian Eurovision Song Contest website eurovision2007.hit.bg revealed today that BNT, the national broadcaster, have announced the first singers and entries chosen for their 2007 national final. Some further artists are rumoured to take part in the competition. Named are:

Sofi Marinova & UstataMoy si diavole

Sofia Mrinova was runner-up in the very first Bulgarian national final in 2005 with Slavi Trifonov and the song Edinstveni. Ustata also took part in 2005, finishing 6th with Vsichki drehi mi prechat out of twelve contestants.

Petia Pavlova – Runaway

Actually, the singer wanted to take part with her song Going down, which the record company didn't allowed since the song was originally composed for Britney Spaers. All songs on her album were compsed by European authors and Runaway is the only one composed by Bulgarians.

StringS – Song to be announced

Although the entry is yet to be announced, the group already stated that the song is something in Linkin Park's style: "Melody rock but harder". The band is still searching for someone doing the vocal track.

Balkandji – Videnie

The band combines rock and traditional Bulgarian instruments.

Preslava and Lilana are said also to take part.

18 songs will have been reduced in a semi final on 3rd February to nine for the final on 24th February. These nine songs will be joined by three other entries that are commissioned by BNT. The winner will be chosen by SMS / televoting during a voting period of ten minutes. Rules state that the songs need to be performed by a Bulgarian artist and that the singers should perform their songs in each state of the contest with no right to comment on the other songs or the rules and regulations of the contest.
