Czech television is selecting the ten performers that will compete in their first national selection on 10th of March. This will be the début for the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Last April 19 the Czech national Broadcaster, Česká televize, stated that they would enter the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. The first ever Czech participant will be chosen through a national final on 10th of March, when ten artists will compete. The winner will be chosen by televoting and internet voting.

A Czech Television jury will invite 7 artists to participate, based on their performance in the previous year's IFPI Radio 50 charts, as well as taking into account a public vote.. Three wildcards will be invited by the Czech Television. Each song will be promoted by its perfomers and one famous person. Fans can vote until 10th of March when the first ever Czech representative will be known!

As a new participant to the Contest, the Czech Republic would have to qualify via the semi-final, to take place on 10 May in Helsinki.
