Tonight's first heat of the successful TV show Zo is er maar één ( There's only one like this) was completed, with a Eurovision Song Contest entry in the first place. Gelukkig zijn, the Belgian entry of 1975, performed by Günther Neefs was voted as the best Dutch song about happiness.

Gelukkig zijn was originally performed by Ann Christy: tonight it was sung by Günther Neefs', son Louis Neefs ( Belgium 1967 & 1969), whose song Laat ons een bloem in the version of Yevgueni won the first edition of Zo is er maar één last year. Kate Ryan performed Alles kan een mens gelukkig maken (René Froger) tonight, taking last place.

The winning song will compete against nine more songs, in nine different categories in the show's semi finals in the weeks to follow. More former Eurovision Song Contest and Eurosong participants will compete in the rest of the show's categories. We will be seeing Xandee (2004), Sergio (2002), Barbara Dex (1993), Liliane Saint-Pierre (1987), Nicole & Hugo (1973), Thor! (Junior Eurovision 2006), Milk Inc. and Sylver.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
