Tonight, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 was held in Kiev, Ukraine and in the end Malta was crowned the winner!

The newly revamped show welcomed 12 countries and Gaia Cauchi singing The start for Malta, a returning country to the contest, won the event with 130 points. Ukraine followed with 121 points with Belarus completing the top 3 with 108 points.

The result was decided by a panel of juries from each country which weighed as 50% of the votes. The other 50% was decided by televoting from every country (except for San Marino). In addition to that, a kids jury was used for the second time in a row. Their votes was equivalent to 1 country.

Following Malta’s win, DR will invite Gaia to Copenhagen next May for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
