During the past few weeks there have been news about various countries withdrawing from the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest: Cyprus, Serbia, Bulgaria and Croatia. Today, esctoday.com focuses on the Croatian participations the past years.
Croatia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with the group Put and the song Don’t ever cry. The same year Bosnia & Herzegovina and Slovenia competed in Eurovision for the first time. Those three countries had recently become independent from Yugoslavia in 1992. The first attempt for Croatia to participate in Eurovision was in 1992 with Magazin’s Aleluja. Since the country was not yet an EBU member in 1992, this song could not enter the contest that year.
