We already know the name of another group to enter Misión Eurovisión: Ybraem. This group, formed by Miguel Ángel García and Ana Luisa Santana, have submitted two sogs for the Spanish national final. Ybraem is a Canarian group, projected on July 2002 and constituted on June 2003. From then, Miguel starts composing the music of Ybraem's repertory; and Ana is the author of most of the lyrics. Many of them are about the environment and the human behavior.
Although Miguel has developed his career in rock groups and Ana in melodic bands, they have never wanted to be defined into a determined style because they like to use many of them.
Ybraem is built from the principle of multiculturality. That is why Miguel and Ana use a huge variety of musical instruments and melodies with ethnic reminiscences. Their first album, Todos los pueblos bajo un mismo cielo, is the result of Ybraem's philosophy and containstwelve songs with different rhythm and sound styles. Moreover, this first CD was placed amongst the leading positionsin the charts on the islands of Tenerife and Lanzarote.
Two videoclips were recorded for this first album: Confess and Lines, and other song, African, was selected by TVE to be the theme for the programme Lunes deportivo. Most of Ybraem's themes are composed in Spanish, but it's not an obstacle for them to use other languages, with the aim of everybody can understand their music.
One important fact for Ybraem is their election to represent a campaign in order to protect the environment, developed by the Tenerife Island Council. Un hogar para ti and Nuestro mar are the two songs that Miguel and Ana composed for this initiative, called Tenerife nuestro hogar.
The Tenerife Council is also elaborating an ecological comic magazine in which Miguel and Ana are two superheroes who fight the Nature's enemies. There is a possibility to turn the magazine into cartoons that would be broadcasted by the Canarian TV channels.
Ybraem has collaborated with other artists as well. Miami Sound Machine, Jarabe de Palo and Miranda Warning are some good examples.
The Ybraem's second CD, Eternidad, has been released recently. You can listen to some of their songs at Ybraem's official website: www.ybraem.com.
