French final in March

The French national final for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in March. According to Tahiti presse, France will use almost the same formula as last year.

Ten artists will participate in the French final, which will be a co-production from broadcasters France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5 and RFO, just like last year. Each broadcaster will have two artists in competition. The French national final will be held in March, the exact date is yet to be announced.

RFO, the broadcaster for France's transmarine territories already announced their participants. Female singer Valérie Louri(picture) and the group Medhi-T will represent RFO in the French national final. The two artists were picked from a total of 72.

France finished 22nd (third from last) in this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Athens with the song Il était temps. As part of the big four, Franceis nevertheless directly qualified for the final in Helsinki.
