On Friday, Belarus begins its national selection for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest entry. The song that eventually wins the Eurofest competition will go forwards to represent the country in Helsinki. It will be Belarus' fourth consecutive entry, and the national hope that in 2007, they will pass the semi final hudle for the first time. National Broadcaster, BTRC, has now published all fifteen songs online.
15 songs will compete in Eurofest. The final will be held in December with two or three of the songs going forward to an internal selection in early 2007 where a jury will decide for the winner. Two songs will be chosen for the internal selection by a jury, plus another one chosen by televoting. If the winner of the televote is also one of the chosen songs of the jury, there will be just two songs going forward.
