Bonnie Tyler who represented the United Kingdom in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest has re-recorded one of her biggest hits Holding out for a hero to help Children in need, one of the biggest charity events in the United Kingdom.

The song has been re-written to fit into the theme of the charities advert which asks people to do things for charity such as wearing pyjamas, talent contest, sponsored runs and women going “Bearfaced” which means not wearing make up for a whole day. Bonnie herself even appears in the advert for a few seconds.

The BBC have said with her iconic song Bonnie was the perfect choice to help celebrate our own fundraising heroes, and it’s an absolute pleasure to have her on board with this year’s campaign. With a tongue-in-cheek and really upbeat feel, we’re confident these trails can help us towards our most successful Appeal to date.

Children in need is a charity set up to change the lives of young people from the UK. They have raised to date over £600 million while this year’s appeal will air on BBC One on 15 November at 9pm CET.
