Estonian broadcaster ETV has announced the 10 singers that will participate in the countrys national selection also known as Eurolaul 2007, which will take place on Saturday 3rd February 2007. On Saturday 27th January, all the songs will be presented to the public in a special TV pre show.

The list of singers together with the information available so far is as follows:
Laura Põldvere will be singing an electronic and acoustic hybrid song by Sven Lõhmus, it will not be a dance song. It is reportedly being recorded these days. Laura represented Estonia in Kiev as a part of Suntribe.

Soul Militia will be singing their own composition. An energetic uptempo, power beat song, rather aggressive, hip-hop and r'n'b, also reported to be in the studio these days. Soul Militia were backing group for Tanel Padar & Dave Benton who won the competition for Estonia in 2001, going under the name 2XL at the time.

Vanilla Ninja return to the Eurovision race witha song called Birds of peace – a typical Vanilla Ninja pop rock song in English. The music was composed by Elmar Liitma, the lyrics by Lenna Kuurma and Piret. Vanilla Ninja represented Switzerland in 2005 reaching 8th position with Cool Vibes .

Kristjan Kasearu & Paradise Crew – Kristyjan’s song is being currently produced. It is called So much to say and it is another pop rock selection.

Partners in crime -another powerful, rock'ish song by Hendrik Sal-Saller- is going to be sung by Gerli Padar, sister of Tanel Padar, the winner of 2001. Gerli is trying her hand once more in Eurolaul, having participated again in 2002. The song is 100% ready.

The Laisaar, Kotkas, Paulus team is still working on their song hoping to have it ready by the deadline. The famous composing trio have already written three Eurolaul winners: Once in a lifetime, Runaway and last year's Through my window.

Koit Toome’s song is not ready yet either. He is going to perform it himself and it is going to be a rhythmic, up tempo song. Koit represented Estonia in Eurovision Song Contest 1998 with Mere lapsed.

Ines is going to perform a song she is writing herself and which will be similar to her last year’s entry Iseendale. She is currently attempting to win Eurolaul for a second time, the first being in 2000 with Once in a lifetime, which finished fourth in Stockholm.

Arne Lauri (Deva Deva Dance) is going to sing a song by Priit Pajusaar which is not ready yet. It is going to be a “world music” song that will appeal to a wider audience.

Hele Kõre & Kristjan Kasearu will be singing another song by Elmar Liitmaa which is not ready yet. It is said to be a very sentimental love song.

The song that will represent Estonia will be selected by two rounds of televoting, during the Eurolaul which will be hosted by Marko Reikop and Maarja Liis-Ilus (who represented Estonia in 1996 and 1997 respectively). The winner will be returning to the the Semi Final on May 10 in Helsinki as Sandra and Looking through my window did not make it to the Final in Athens.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
