Norwegian broadcaster NRK want to keep the excitement while announcing their 18 entrants for the 2007 national final Melodi Grand Prix: The names will be revealed over three weeks in January with the line-up of one semi final per week. The announcement of the participants in the first semi final will be held on 2nd January, followed by the line-up of the second heat on 9th January. One week later, we will know all the participants in the selection, just in time for the start of the semi-final broadcasts!
Synnøve Svabø & Stian Barsnes Simonsen will host Melodi Grand Prix 2007. The first semi final will take place in Alta on 20th January. The second and third qualifier rounds will be held on 27th January in Bodø and on 3rd February in Stokke. The top two songs will go directly to the final on 10th February while the third and fourth placed participants will enter a second chance round on 8th February.

In 2006, Norway achieved a disappointing 14th place with 36 points in the final round with Christine Gulbrandsen's Alvedansen. Therefore, they will have to enter the semi final in Helsinki.
