TVEi to broadcast Spanish finals

Yesterday, Spanish broadcaster TVEi aired the Junior Eurovision Song Contest so that the show could be watched almost everywhere in Europe. The coverage of Eurovision events will be continued: All the shows to select the Spanish representive for the 2007 Song Contest will be aired and can therefore be watched by fans of the competition all over Europe, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and France.

The Spanish Final will be held over 7 weeks, starting on 13th Januaryand with the last show on 24th February. The singerwill be selected through two separate competitions, one tochoose the song and another one tochoose the singer. During the firstfour weeks,about 20 singers will go forward to the semi final which will be held after five weeks, and the top five singers (three of themchosen by televoting,two by a jury) will reach the final. In the 6th and 7th week, thethefivefinalists will each perform the final songs. Televoting will decide which song and singer will got to Helsinki. The shows will be hosted by Paula Vázquez.

Spain finished 21st in Athens with Las Ketchup and Bloody Mary. Nevertheless, they are directly qualified for the final round in 2007 as part of the 'big 4'.
