More news regarding the Albanian national final have been published: 85 songs have been submitted to broadcaster RTVSH for the Kenges festival to be held over three days in December. An 'expert' jury will meet over the next few days to narrow down the list to about 30 songs.

Popular Albanian newspaper Shekulli has published several composers and lyricists that have submitted entries. Among others, Pandi Loca and Adrian Hila, who wrote Ledina Celo's song in 2005 Tomorrow I go are trying to represent their country again. Other participants from earlier national finals – both singers and writers – are said to have contributed new songs.

On 21st and 22nd December, two semi finals will be held, followed by the final on 23rd December. The winner will be chosen by jury voting. Therefore, Albania will once again be the first country to choose their song for Helsinki, five months ahead of the actual contest.

After a strong debut in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the song The image of you, performed by Anjeza Shahini, who finished 4th in the semi final and 7th in final, Albania only reached 16th position inKyiv with Ledina Celo and Tomorrow I go. In the 2006 semi final, the country presented a song in their national language for the first time but didn't make it to the final: Zjarr e ftohte, sung by Luiz Ejlli, only reached a 14th place. Therefore, Albania will have to enter the semi final again in 2007.
